1999 Land Rover Discovery SD w/ 7seat option. LHD. Finished in Beluga Black. 4.0L V8 w/ ZF auto transmission and LT230 transfer case w/ hi/lo selection and center diff lock. The last year of the first generation Discovery and arguably the most sought after, these trucks came with sunroof delete. This particular Disco has been our personal daily driver for the last 2+ years and is an excellent example of a well kept truck with tasteful modifications.
Over the last 30k miles, we’ve performed major services to ensure this vehicle has a long life ahead including: heads gaskets and all accompanying top end gaskets, new thermostat, overhauled cooling system w/ new radiator, all coolant/emissions hoses, plugs, belts, oil cooler lines both transmission and engine, new fuel pump, battery, alternator, Rovers North Catback exhaust and new fluids throughout, including transmission filter replacement. The oil pan was dropped, resealed and oil pickup tube/screen was cleaned. We’ve always used Rotella T engine oil (preferred for these flat tappet engines) and Chevron/Shell premium fuel. Overall paint is in excellent condition. Hood and front fender were recently resprayed. Slight oxidation on the roof under the roof rack. No rust.
To improve on it’s legendary capability, we’ve added a 2” Terra Firma lift with 1” spacers and TF Big Bore shocks in the rear. A full length BajaRack is up top with a rear ladder. It rides on new Kumho 235/85r16 AT’s with a matching spare. New Bluetooth head unit.
Rust free Discovery’s are getting harder to find and this one doesn’t have burned up door cards. The dash is nearly perfect. Still in use as our daily driver, the anti-lock light will occasionally stay on and the rear windows work intermittingly. An excellent driver as is or we can build to suite with roof top tent, awnings, rear fridge, etc. Only two previous long term owners and a clean Carfax.
